I am thrilled with this painting in particular, the play of juicy color on the canyon walls and the quality of dimension.

Rebirth

This piece was inspired by the rash of fires that devastated so much of the Pacific Northwest in 2017. There can be beauty in tragedy.

This pastel was created especially for the upcoming show Crush II featured at the Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River.  The show runs through the month of October, with an artist reception this Friday, October 3rd from 6 to 8 pm

Okay!  I feel like I really nailed this piece!!  I have been intimidated with the thought of painting a wave for a long time.  The challenge of capturing movement in a two dimensional space seemed daunting at the very least, BUT I prevailed and managed to pull it off.  I think it helps to have had the good fortune to spend a lot of time on the water and feel the experience of the ocean, the force of the push and pull.
